I’m pleased to bring you my new column for the BACP Counselling at Work Autumn 2015 Journal!
In this season’s column, I discuss how our core congruent self can be present across a myriad of different platforms and types of software, including social media.
I describe how I think we underestimate just how skilled we have been as a race at adapting to these new methods of communication – and what seemed to be a novel experience as we waited for the ping of, say, a new email message is now just part of our daily lives as we take our smart phones to bed for one last daily fix of being connected to each other.
I also examine how crucial our understanding of congruence is in the context of our client work, and how vital it is to ensure our true congruent self is present across the channels we use daily – and that includes our face-to-face work.
