Research Call!
Dear Colleagues,
I am George Agathokleous, a Counselling Psychologist in the final year of Doctoral training at the University of Wolverhampton, supervised by Dr Alison Attrill-Smith and Dr Lisa Orchard. My research interests revolve around the practical applications and use of Online Therapy. In particular I am exploring potential factors that could help us understand and inform the future direction of the domain of online therapy within the broad mental health care practice across the various related professional disciplines.
I am writing to kindly invite you to take part in this completely anonymous online survey https://wolverhamptonpsych.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_5zEql5EGqTI0lFj , and help me complete my data collection as part of my Doctoral Thesis.
This study is open to anyone that uses (or have used occasionally) the Internet and related technologies for mental health intervention and/or supervision purposes, such as: Video, E-mail, Telephone, WhatsApp (or similar), Mindfulness apps, online platforms or any other type of internet-related technology.
This study has been approved by the Faculty of Education, Health and Wellbeing Ethics Panel, University of Wolverhampton.
The aim of the study:
The present study aims to deepen our understanding as to the role and use of the Internet and related technologies for mental health intervention and support purposes.
What your participation in the study will involve:
Your participation in this study is completely anonymous and will involve the completion of a series of survey questions regarding your experience and views on the use of the Internet and related technologies. You will also be asked to complete a few survey questions in reference to a series of hypothetical sketches and in relation to a text excerpt regarding the future of Internet-based interventions. Some demographic information will be sought at the start of the survey too. You will not be asked to provide your name or other identifying information.
The data collected may be written up as a manuscript for academic publication. If the manuscript is published, then the data will be destroyed five years from the date of publication. Please note that feedback cannot be given on individual performance, but will provide an opportunity at the end of the study to seek out further information about the overall study outcome
Thank you for your interest in my study, I would greatly appreciate your contribution and help towards completing my data collection. Please consider forwarding this invitation onwards to anyone you think might be interested in taking part.
