Computerized Cognitive Behavioral Therapy cCBT in the United States

August 17, 2012 by Kate Anthony

We were involved in a recent discussion about the use of cCBT in the United States. We know that the UK is using cCBT a lot, especially with endorsements from NICE  and NHS but what about the US?

(see: http://www.nice.org.uk/nicemedia/pdf/TA097guidance.pdf)

What is cCBT? Computerized Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CCBT) has been described by NICE as a “generic term for delivering CBT via an interactive computer interface delivered by a personal computer, internet, or interactive voice response system”, instead of face-to-face with a human therapist.

How is cCBT being utilized in the US?

Here are links about the use of cCBT in the US- if you know of more, please add to the list!
